Dad's Plaid
Sometimes the most meaningful things we keep are the everyday ones – a favorite shirt, a familiar pattern, something that simply reminds us of someone we love.
“Dad’s Plaid” began with a well-worn shirt. Rather than tucking it away in a drawer or closet, portions of the shirt were carefully cut into strips and wrapped around cotton cord as the basket was sewn.
With each turn of the cord, the familiar plaid became part of something new- a handcrafted basket made to be seen, used and treasured. A fishing lure was added as a personal finishing touch – another small reminder of the person behind the memory.

A Mollybeth Home Memory Basket can be created using fabric from a shirt or other meaningful piece of clothing. Because every garment, fabric and story is different, no two Memory Baskets will ever be exactly alike.
The original fabric isn’t simply placed inside the basket. It becomes part of the basket itself, woven visually throughout the piece as it is constructed.
